Starting the Dance Season Right: Important Reminders for the 2025–2026 Season

A brand-new dance season is here, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome dancers back into the studio! Whether you’ve been with us for years or are stepping into class for the very first time, the beginning of the season is the perfect time to set the tone for a fun, respectful, and focused year of dance.

Here are the key reminders and expectations that our teachers will share on the first day of classes:

Respect for Everyone

Respect is at the core of everything we do. That means kindness toward yourself, your teachers, and your fellow dancers. When we show up with positivity and care, we create a space where everyone feels safe and supported.

Attendance and Punctuality

Consistency is a dancer’s best friend. Arriving on time and attending class regularly makes all the difference in your growth and ensures the group can progress together. Every dancer matters to the collective energy of the room.

Proper Attire

Being prepared with the right attire helps you move safely and confidently. Please come with hair tied back, jewelry removed, and the correct dance and footwear for your class.

Focus and Participation

When you step through the studio doors, it’s time to be fully present. Listen closely to instructions, participate with enthusiasm, and save chatting with friends for before or after class.

Personal Responsibility

We share the studio, which means we share responsibility for keeping it welcoming and organized. Store belongings neatly, keep water bottles sealed, and tidy up after yourself if you use the kitchen.

Studio Etiquette

A few simple habits keep things running smoothly:

  • Remove outdoor shoes before entering the studio.

  • If you’re the last to arrive, please listen for the bell and answer the door for the next person.

Health and Safety

Your well-being comes first. Let your teacher know if you’re feeling unwell or managing an injury. Always take warm-ups seriously and listen to your body. If you’re sick, please stay home or consider wearing a mask.

Commitment to Growth

Growth looks different for everyone. Stay patient with yourself and supportive of others.

Parents in the Studio

We love the support our families bring to LPD, but because our Saturday schedule is so full, we don’t have the capacity for parents to remain in the studio during classes.

The only exception is parents of Wee Dancers. They can stay for class as dancers adjust to a new routine. Once your dancer is ready we recommend getting in the practice of dropping them off.

One of the most valuable lessons dancers gain at LPD is independence. Learning how to take part in structured group activities, listen to their teachers, and prepare for experiences like being on stage is such an important skill. It helps dancers build confidence and resilience.

Communication

We’re here for you!

If you have questions, concerns, or just need some guidance, please email to set up an appointment.

Stay up to date by checking your email and studio notices for schedules, events, and important updates.

We believe that setting clear expectations helps create a safe, inspiring, and joyful environment for all.

Here’s to a fab 2025–2026 dance year!
