A Season of Joy and Gratitude

As we wrap up our season on May 31st, I want to take a moment to share my deepest gratitude—with every dancer and every family member who has been part of this journey.

This year has truly felt like the culmination of a dream. After the show, people spoke about the joy they saw on stage, about how physically present and connected the dancers were—regardless of age or experience. They talked about how the atmosphere felt positive, inclusive, and meaningful. That’s it. That’s the goal. That’s what I’ve been striving for—not just as a teacher, but as a studio owner and community builder. Joy, presence, community, and, well yes, feminism.

I can foster the environment, but it’s you who bring it to life. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for being open. Thank you for offering yourselves to each other and to this work.

I’m going to model good behaviour and take a little time to rest and recharge before our summer camps begin in July. That means I’ll be stepping away from the dance school—and this blog—for a few weeks. If you're curious about what I’m up to professionally, feel free to check out Choreographing Connection. I am also directing Love's Labour’s Lost for Shakespeare by the Sea, opening July 12th.

If you’re returning next year, I can’t wait to welcome you back. And if life takes you in a different direction for now, know that the door will always be open. You’ll always have a home here.

With love and gratitude,

Miss Lynn
