There's a Place for You Here

During camp last week, one of our dancers noticed that the Studio Star nomination box was empty.
"That's so strange," they said. "It's usually full because everyone here is so amazing."
That's exactly the culture we're trying to build.
Our dancers come from different schools and family backgrounds. They arrive with different personalities, different strengths, and different challenges. Some have years of dance experience. Some are rolling up to class for the very first time. Some learn quickly. Others need more time. Some are naturally flexible or musical. Others build those skills through persistence.
None of those things determine whether you belong.
At LPD, we believe everyone is running their own race.
Our job isn't to compare dancers. It's to help each dancer grow from where they are today. We celebrate effort, curiosity, kindness, resilience, and the courage to keep trying, because those are the qualities that help dancers (and people) continue to grow.
We expect commitment. We ask dancers to challenge themselves, to support one another, and to keep showing up, even when something feels difficult. Because growth takes work.
And hard work looks different for every dancer.
When children know they don't have to compete for belonging, they begin to cheer for one another. They notice each other's successes. They understand that someone else's progress doesn't take away from their own.
Everyone has something valuable to contribute.
Everyone here is so amazing.
