Recital 2026 Announcement
We are so excited to officially announce our 2026 recital: Cosmic Tides… and other dances.
Each year, our recital is a celebration of the work our dancers have been building all season: their growth, creativity, discipline, and joy. This year’s program is especially rich, offering both a sweeping ballet centerpiece and a high-energy, multi-generational jazz feature.
Cosmic Tides
Our main ballet for 2026 is a condensed adaptation of Gustav Holst’s iconic symphonic work The Planets.
Composed between 1914 and 1916 by British composer Gustav Holst, The Planets is one of the most recognizable and influential orchestral works of the 20th century.
Rather than depicting the planets as astronomical bodies, Holst was inspired by their astrological characters, creating seven distinct movements that each evoke a specific mood, energy, or emotional landscape.
In our adaptation, each movement of The Planets is brought to life by a different group within our studio, allowing dancers of all ages and levels to take part in this shared work. Mars is performed by our Level 3 Ballet class, Venus by our Company Ballet dancers, Mercury by our Level 1 Ballet class, and Jupiter by our Level 4 Ballet dancers. Saturn is embodied by our Adult Ballet class, while Neptune is danced by our Intermediate Adult Ballet group. This structure highlights the strength of our multi-level training environment and celebrates the range of experience within our LPD community.
Don’t Stop Me Now
In addition to our ballet, we are thrilled to present a multi-generational jazz piece set to the music of Queen!
This section brings together dancers from Level 1 to Company in a joyful, high-energy shared performance.
A Celebration of Our Community
Our year-end recital celebrates a year of hard work and showcases how dancers have grown and developed. More than just a performance, the recital is an opportunity to learn about professionalism, production, and stage etiquette, all in a supportive and inspiring environment.
As always, you’ll find all important details, including dates, tickets, schedules, and performance information, on our website. We can’t wait to share this work with you and celebrate another incredible year of dance.
