Performing Group

2026–2027 Season Overview

The Performing Group is designed for dancers who want to deepen their training, expand their artistry, and experience what it means to create and perform work as a collective.

This year, the program is structured with a clear progression across the season. Dancers can expect a mix of skill-building, performance creation, and optional specialized tracks in areas like choreography, production, and design.

If you want to come in, work hard, and dance, that is absolutely welcome. If you are interested in going further into creation, leadership, and production, there are opportunities to do that as well.

What’s Expected

All Performing Group dancers will:

  • Participate in regular skill-building classes

  • Learn and perform choreography

  • Commit to scheduled performances and intensives

This shared foundation ensures that all dancers are developing as well-rounded performers.

Expanded Training Opportunities

In addition to core training, dancers can choose to engage more deeply in specific areas:

  • Choreography Track – creating and developing original work

  • Production Track – learning how to plan and produce performances

  • Costuming Track – exploring design, function, and storytelling through costume

  • Lighting & Technical Track – introduction to stagecraft and technical design

These are optional but encouraged for dancers who are curious about the full scope of performance-making.

Who Can Join

The Performing Group is open to all Lynn Panting Dance (LPD) students in Level 1 and above. It’s designed for dancers who want to take their training seriously, grow their performance skills, and work as part of a dedicated team.

Rehearsal Schedule

  • Mondays, 4:30–6:00 PM

Dress Code

Please wear all black for rehearsals, and hair must be in a slick back pony, braid, or bun. This creates a unified look and keeps the focus on movement and expression.

Performance Commitment

Members are expected to participate in all scheduled performances. Dates will be shared in advance so families can plan ahead.

Communication

  • Check studio messages regularly for updates.

  • Notify us promptly of any unavoidable conflicts so we can plan together.

Accessibility

We ask that families support the LPD Scholarship Fund, which provides opportunities for dancers who may not otherwise be able to participate. All donations are gratefully received, though we encourage contributions that reflect the value of this program.

The Performing Group is for dancers who want to take their training to the next level.

Please use this questionnaire as a guide for family conversation before deciding to join.
